She now teach privately, but was for 6 years employed full-time as an Art lecturer at Natal Technikon and prior to that, taught Art to grade 7 to Martic, in a local school .
She is fully qualified with a Fine Arts Degree and HED teaching Diploma from UKZN in Pmb.
In addition to teaching painting and drawing, she is a well- known practising artist who work primarily in clay, currently making Ceramic Sculptures which are exhibited throughout South Africa. She works on her own professionally as a top award-winning Ceramic Artist with her work represented in most of SA's leading public Art Museums and other Art Collections. She was the winner of the Corobrik National Ceramics exhibition in 1988 - a large work now on show in the Pretoria Art Museum along with 5 other works.
Her current work consists of ceramic sculptures of HORSES, can be viewed in top commercial galleries in Durban, Cape Town and the Western Cape, Joburg and Clarens. These highly individual expressive works are instantly recognizable and have received several awards. The Kimberly Art Museum, (WHAG), purchased her: "White Horse With Birds" last year, for their public collection.
Carol enjoys the balance of teaching just two morning classes a week to fulfil her love of interacting with other Artists and the more private time she has on her own, to concentrate on creating her own work of ceramic horses. These are continually evolving, often including an element of humour or whimsy.
